The picture (from Automobil Revue) dates from 1951 and shows a young pilot concentrating on pulling his soapbox into a bend. This leads to a whole series of questions:
- Are there any historic racing events for the soapboxes of yesteryear?
- Where have the soapboxes of yesteryear ended up?
- Are there collectors who hoard old soapboxes?
- How much has the technology of soapboxes developed compared to conventional cars?
- Do so many spectators still come to a soapbox race?
- And and and ....
But actually, we can just sit back and smile at the sight of this snapshot, without any engine power at all ...
