Tradition is worth something after all

Ford is currently doing a lot of advertising for the new Capri in this country. Now, the current version of this car as an electric vehicle crossover/SUV has very little to do with the coupé that was coveted by many at the end of the 1960s and the following two decades with 4- and 6-cylinder engines.
But apparently tradition and company history are still worth something, which is why the Ford marketing people probably thought that it could hardly do any harm to build on the old image.
Funnily enough, reference is made to the electric range of 627 km, which is hardly how far the old Capris made it back then. But then the refueling stop only took five minutes or so.
Speaking of tradition. Ford has also just abolished the Focus, after the end of the Fiesta was announced earlier. Who knows, maybe we'll soon see commercials for some electric SUV with a Focus, Escort or Fiesta reflected in the water underneath?
P.S. Here's the original ad, which of course shows the new one on top ...
