Was range anxiety yesterday?

One obstacle to the spread of the electric car is "range anxiety", as we read everywhere. This refers to the fact that drivers of these electrically powered and battery-operated cars fear that they will not reach their destination and will stop somewhere along the way when the battery is drained (early on). Although 300 to 600 km is already the norm today, these distances can usually only be achieved under good conditions (smooth driving, room temperatures). In winter, the battery can quickly run out after 2/3 of the theoretical range.
Apparently Renault wants to combat this fear in its latest commercial. A video has already been made showing the electric Renault Mégane in the USA. The likeable young driver encounters Wyatt and Billy on their motorcycles (Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in the 1969 film Easy Rider) and later Thelma and Louise (Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in the 1991 film "Thelma and Louise").
But while Wyatt, Billy and Louise have to refuel at some point, the Renault Mégane keeps on driving. So: is range anxiety really a thing of the past?
Of course we don't want to deprive our readers of this nicely made commercial:
