Whether supercharger, all-wheel drive or even electric drive, it's all been there before. Perhaps not as sophisticated and perfect as is possible today, but car designers have always been inventive and creative.

Accordingly, the rear lights of the new E 400 from Mercedes-Benz, which was shown at Auto Zurich last weekend, are already a thing of the past, as the Mercedes-Benz Nürburg 460 and 500, built from 1928 to 1939, already had stars in the rear lights (picture above). Of course, these were not produced using LED lighting technology, but they looked good even then and the star was clearly visible.
