50 years since the IAA in 1969 - a cinematic look back
By chance, I came across a video on YouTube that shows a ZDF report on the opening of the 44th IAA in Frankfurt in 1969. It is not only recommended because of the reunion with everyday cars and sports cars that were presented 50 years ago, but also because of the way it was made, which is somewhat surprising, as the ZDF report almost looks like an amateur film. You can also see and hear the unforgettable Fritz B. Busch, who thought that the manufacturers were focusing too much on show cars and sports cars instead of affordable everyday cars with panache.
Some manufacturers are presented with their new cars in specially made films, including Opel, Audi, BMW, NSU, Austin and Fiat. This is also a pleasure.
Just take a look at the video, which lasts just over 50 minutes, and you won't be disappointed.
