The practical side of super sports cars
11/10/2017
Super sports cars of the sixties and seventies have a reputation for being extremely impractical and hardly suitable for everyday use. There are plenty of examples, perhaps the most quoted being the Lamborghini Countach, which you could hardly park in reverse because you couldn't see out the back.
But there was another way. Anyone who has ever driven a Maserati Khamsin in reverse will confirm that this is one of the most pleasant cars in this discipline. Not only does it have a large rear window, but there is also another glass cover between the rear lights that allows you to see practically everything when looking backwards, as long as you don't have any luggage loaded.
Even 30 centimetres away from the next car you can still read its license plate, and you can see the ground about a meter behind the car. Together with the strongly assisted and direct power steering, parking is child's play. We tried it, it's true!
