Equally expensive - rather very small or very big - BMW Isetta and Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

They have nothing in common except that both brands belong to the same group today. And that they cost roughly the same today in comparable (good) condition, i.e. around EUR 20,000 to 25,000 (CHF 23,000 to 28,000). We are talking about the BMW Isettaand the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.
On the one hand, the two-seater cabin scooter, which cost just around DM 3,000 in 1960 and ran at around 85 km/h with a single-cylinder engine of 300 cm3, and on the other, the five-seater luxury limousine, once costing almost DM 100,000, powered (from 1970) by a 6.75-liter eight-cylinder engine that delivered "enough" power to accelerate the heavy car to over 185 km/h.
As an investment, only the little one has proved its worth so far, because with a current market value of around twelve times the former new price, few other classics can keep up.
In everyday use, the big one is certainly the much more pleasant companion if you can afford its generous thirst and the usually hefty maintenance bills. And if you have a garage that is significantly longer than the standard five-meter bay.
Hardly anyone will own both, although the two very different mobility concepts would look stunning side by side. Both have their own fan community and that's a good thing.
