It's done! The 2017 Zwischengas annual magazine is on its way to newsstands and readers
12/08/2016
It has been a hectic few weeks, but now we have our second Zwischengas annual magazine for 2017 in our hands, again 260 pages thick (and weighing almost 750 grams) and full of exclusive reports and pictures. No other classic car magazine is more comprehensive, no other magazine contains so many articles and topics relating to classic and vintage cars.
The new issue is bursting with exciting reports on cars, racing drivers, designers, events and so on from the world of classic mobility.
For example, the unusual museum history: Of course, cars are moved from museum to museum every now and then, but Zwischengas photographer Daniel Reinhard has followed the relocation of an entire car museum.
Every other year, a historic racing event takes place in Monaco, two weeks before the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Zwischengas was on site at both and took pictures of the two events at the same location. These are shown in direct comparison in the magazine.
Le Mans has changed over the last few decades, can these changes also be seen in the pictures? In the Zwischengas annual magazine, events from back then are compared with today's classic event and the 24 Hours of 2016.
The Carrera Panamericana still takes place today, but the annual magazine publishes hardly ever seen original photographs and recordings taken by a reporter on site in 1954.
The Ferrari F40 and the Jaguar XJ 220 are among the fastest sports cars of their time; we drove both this year and documented them extensively.
Passion is part of organizing a big rally. You can sense this immediately when you talk to H.A. Bichsel (RAID), Paolo Spalluto (Passione Engadina/Caracciola) or Michael Glöckler (Ennstal-Classic). Zwischengas wanted to know why these men do this.
Passion is also part of the equation if you want to succeed in motor racing, Zwischengas has reeled off episodes from the life of Jochen Mass and Rainer Braun shares his memories of the days of Prince Leopold of Bavaria on and off the race track.
And that perhaps sums up a quarter of the content of the new annual issue, plus the vehicle reports and impressions of over 30 classic and modern classic cars, a review of the 2016 auction year, a look back at the trade fairs and concours of the year that is drawing to a close and, of course, the calendar for the coming year. The Christmas vacations can come, nobody has to get bored ...
Of course, we have also prepared a comprehensive announcement . Pre-ordered copies are now being delivered, the kiosks will be stocked in the next few days, but of course you can still order more copies from us online.
