Vintage and classic cars that are losing value and why we should still buy them ...
A week ago, we philosophized in a blog postabout why certain vintage and classic cars are losing value.
And we naturally took the list as an opportunity to take a look at one of these cars, which according to the special issue of Oldtimer Markt in Germany has lost value.
We took a look at the Alfa Romeo 164, whose value has fallen by around 5 to 43% over the last five years according to research by Classic Data, with the all-wheel-drive version standing out with an increase in value of 81%.
So we got into the front-wheel drive three-liter version with the wonderful V6 engine, which can be bought incredibly cheaply today, even in very good condition. And we were thrilled, because the Alfa Romeo 164 is a really good car, a lot of fun to drive and also offers great utility value. We also wrote a vehicle report in which we documented the history and qualities of the Alfa.
And as with the Alfa Romeo 164, it is the same with other vehicles that have obviously fallen out of favor on the market.
An MG A or B (pictured above) is a wonderful car, Rolls-Royce built great pre-war saloons and tourers, the big tail fin models from Mercedes-Benz were very well constructed automobiles. Even if the value drops by a few percentage points, these are still good vehicles and they can provide endless joy of ownership and driving pleasure.
Perhaps you should buy one now, when prices have fallen a little, if this is really the case in the real world ...
