Forgotten car anniversaries? There were still ...
11/15/2013
The big anniversaries were duly celebrated in 2013, such as the 60th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette or the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 and Ford GT 40, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Audi Sport quattro. But there were also anniversaries that received little attention and we would like to remind you of some of the less talked about cars here.
For example, the DKW F 102 (pictured above), powered by a powerful two-stroke engine, was presented at the 1963 IAA.
The Ford Corsair, with a four-cylinder front engine and rear-wheel drive, made its debut in Paris 50 years ago.
Bertone's Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Coupé was also shown for the first time in 1963.
And the Ford 12 M Coupé also made its debut in the fall of 1963.
In Paris in 1963, the Panhard 24 CT basked in the journalists' flashbulbs for the first time.
The Glas 1500 saloon designed by Pietro Frua made its first public appearance at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in 1963.
NSU installed a four-cylinder engine in the Prinz 1000 for the first time 50 years ago.
And finally, Opel presented the Kadett coupé for the first time at the 1963 IAA. And these were just some of the vehicles celebrating their 50th birthday in 2013. There are also some that are 20, 25, 60, 75 or 90 years old, but we can think about that another time. And we are sure our readers could list many more anniversaries ...
