Are classic cars afraid of water?
05/13/2013
When beautiful reflections and drops of water on shiny hoods bring tears of joy to photographers' eyes, it makes some classic car owners break out in a cold sweat. They take care of their classic car and expose it as little as possible to the rigors of our Central European weather.
Although classic cars are not a priori afraid of water and most of them do not fail in damp conditions, there is of course a connection between water and rust formation and the efforts of the last cleaning and polishing campaign must be written off immediately in damp weather.
Nevertheless, there are those classic car drivers who defy wind and weather, drive openly even in the rain (with the right clothing) and don't leave organizers sitting around when the sun isn't shining.
That's good, they should be praised here. Because thanks to them, the efforts of the organizers of classic car events are still worthwhile when the weather gods don't play along (and in our case, especially this year, not so rarely).
And we were able to see yesterday at the Dolder Classics meeting that these weather resisters do exist, as our photo report shows.
