The American Grand Prix looks back on 53 years
After Sebring 1959, Riverside 1960, Watkins Glen 1961-80, Long Beach 1976-83, Detroit 1982-88, Las Vegas 1981 and 1982, Dallas 1984, Phoenix 1989-91 and Indianapolis 2000-07, Formula 1 found a new venue in the USA in Austin (Texas) in 2012. Of course, this also includes a look back, which was celebrated with a historic F1 race.
Not only the tracks but also the cars have changed a lot over the years. Many Formula 1 drivers and team members stood on the pit wall the day before yesterday and watched the historic F1 cars start at 3:20 pm local time.
The cars were in perfect condition, making it feel more like you were at Pebble Beach than at the start of a race.

If we really were at Pebble Beach, which model would win the Concours D`Elegance? The only thing that is clear is that the F2012 (pictured below) would not even make it to the final! All the historic F1 racing cars shown can of course also be found in full resolution in the Zwischengas archive .
