70 years of Walter Brun - fast as hell and enjoying life
Walter Brun was born in Lucerne on October 20, 1942. After a brief career as a civil servant with Swiss Post, he recognized a gap in the market and set up his own business. He made his money by installing and renting out gambling machines in the early 1960s. He had sufficient funds to enter motor racing in 1964.
Initially, he competed in touring cars in various mountain and circuit races. He competed in almost anything with four wheels. His career began in the Lotus Cortina, followed by the BMW 2002 ti, the 2800 CS and CSL, the Porsche 908 and a works outing with the Mazda RX-3. He continued with the BMW Coupés with three-liter displacement, the 320 and the M1.

From 1982, the era of sports cars began with racing cars such as the SHS(Sauber C6), the Sehcar (Sauber-Ford) and the Porsche prototypes 956 and 962. Finally, from 2000, he drove a few races in the Dodge Viper and the Saleen.
His track record includes the titles of German Champion, European Champion and World Champion.
Walti was always and everywhere super fast. He loved women, music and enjoyed life to the full. A bon vivant straight out of a picture book. Big-hearted and positive, actually too good for this world, he was ripped off a few times in his life. He lost everything when he entered Formula 1. Nevertheless, he pulled himself up again in small steps, paid back most of his debts and now enjoys his retirement life as an innkeeper and musician.
