The Gaisberg is calling (again)
06/06/2012
The"Gaisberg Race for Historic Automobiles" will take place for the tenth time between June 6 and 9, 2012. The race is run according to regularity regulations. Nevertheless, racing cars from the pre- and post-war period, as well as fast Gran Turismo vehicles, gather on the Gaisberg every year. The focus is of course on the mountain runs up the Gaisberg, as the route is challenging and refreshingly long.
However, as every year, the event will begin with the City Grand Prix in Salzburg, where hopefully thousands and thousands of spectators will watch the roaring racing cars.
On Friday, it's off to the Salzburgring, one of the highlights of the event for many participants.
The start list offers many a rare classic, from the Atalanta Sport Tourer to the BMW 328, the Borgward 1500 RS, McLaren M12 GT Coupé, Porsche 550 RS, the Riley MPH Sports and many other delicacies. Around 180 participating vehicles will ensure that spectators will not be bored.
Let's go to the Gaisberg .
We at Zwischengas will be right in the middle of it all, riding along and of course reporting in detail on the event. And if you're looking for a few more inspirations and impressions from the past, you'll find them in our reports from last year and from the speed tests from 1929 to 1969.
