RELEASE DBR 26 October, 1969 Toyo Kogyo Places on Sales Mazda R130 Coupe - Two versions of Mazda R130 Coupe with, newly designed 2-rotor rotary engine to he placed on the domestic market on October 15 - Powered by a newly designed 2-rotor rotary engine developing 126 HP, the new Mazda R130 Coupe has an outstanding performance with maximum speed of 190 km per hour and an SS -^-mile of 16.9 seconds. Air conditioner, power steering and power windows are standard on this model. A fashionable coupe with a semimonocoque body based on the flowing styling of the Mazda 1500 Sedan, the R130 is a personal car with superior styling, performance and equipment. In May 1967 Toyo Kogyo put on the market the Mazda 110 S mounted with world's first 2-rotor rotary engine. Following this model, the Mazda R100 Coupe was put on sale in July last year to serve a wider range of motoring fans, which, as a coupe of express way age, breathed fresh air into the Japanese passenger car market, and has since won great popularity for its outstanding performance. And with the introduction of the third, 2-rotor rotary engine model, the Familia Rotary SS (domestic name), this July, production and sales of the rotary engine cars have rapidly increased to register a total sales of 3*^69 units in August.
