... MARCH 24, 1948 Since the beginning of the Cold War the Airplane Industry has much work to do. It is terrible that a new war can start within a short time! WICHITA, JUNE 15, 1948 Nobody is really interested any more in our project, because Beech will not produce cars and it is not clear at all what they will do with the prototypes of our car. Maybe to sell it to another company? But this is very complicated. I will probably stay some more time at Beech, unto the moment when they will try to sell the prototype. I should look around for something else. Last Sunday I was flying again. WICHITA, DECEMBER 6, 1948 The car is still not yet ready for driving to examine how it works. And I want to finish it before coming back to Switzerland. They have promised me holidays for February/March. Beechcraft has more work now, so I will stay for more time here. I presume they will spend still some money for our project. There is much dancing these days, some of them in connection with Beech, f.ex. from the Beech Supervisor Club which is in our hotel. WICHITA, JANUARY 24. 1949 The car was ready for testdrivtng, but then something in the engine has broken and we had to build in a new wavedamper. That gave quite a lot of complications, much work and much annoyance. These parts will be made in our workshop - so we have to wait, before we know, if it works now. ...
