... number of different things mark out the HL from the other Maxis—and from the rest of the field. The sports steeringwheel with its simulated leatherbound rim and distinctive HL centre motif. Attractive brushed nylon panels give extra style and comfort to the broad Maxi seats. The welllaidout fascia is faced in padded vinyl. And the gaitered gearlever is topped with a simulated wood finish grip. Some things aren’t different. The carpet and trim have the same handsome luxury in all the Maxis. All have a steeringcolumn lock, a locking glovebox, twospeed heater and draughtfree, fresh air ventilation. And all have twospeed selfparking wipers and twin jet washers. On the HL, the washers are electri cally operated. There are two optional extras on the 1500 and 1750 (all the other usual ‘extras’ are standard): a heated rear window and a cigarlighter mounted on the fascia. And these are both standard on the luxury HL. So is a safety dipping rear view mirror. The HL combines performance and extra style with the Maxi’s renowned versatility and practicality.
