Classic car drivers are connoisseurs ... and avoid the highway (question of the month)
Highways have been around almost as long as most classic cars. And, of course, most classic cars still master these directionally separated highways today. However, this does not necessarily mean that classic car drivers also enjoy driving on the highways. We wanted to find out more and asked the following " question of the month" : "Do you drive your classic car on the highway?"
Over 400 readers chose one of the five answers provided. There are few complete highway deniers, with only 6.1% stating that they never use highways.
At 32%, the proportion of those who prefer country and interurban roads and only switch to the highway in exceptional cases was the second largest.
36.2% sometimes travel longer distances on freeways to save time.
24.8% have no trouble at all driving on motorways in their old car.
And one percent were unable to answer any of the questions.
All in all, around three quarters do not use freeways in an old car unless there are major advantages, e.g. time savings, to the contrary. Obviously, classic car drivers are connoisseurs.
