In the car with Jacky Ickx

I certainly wouldn't have imagined my ride with Jacky Ickx to be quite like this if I'd imagined it beforehand. After all, the Belgian has won six times at Le Mans, achieved eight Grand Prix victories in Formula 1 and even became CanAm champion.
So the man can drive a car, there's no doubt about that.
However, it was mostly sleek racing cars that he sat behind the wheel of. And not a VW bus. And the drive was usually on a race track and not around a castle park.
Nevertheless, it felt very special to be chauffeured through the driveway of Bensberg Castle by Jacky Ickx in a VW Type 2 T1. Even if we didn't get above 15 km/h. At least that's something I can tell my grandchildren about one day ...
