What marriage has to do with a beautiful automobile ...
05/10/2016
It was written large above this advertisement: "89 men (out of 100) are satisfied with their marriage". Below it was this picture of a filling station with a Mercedes-Benz 230 SL (with hardtop) and a Ford Taunus.
Of course, the ad explained the context:
"Statistics know even more: four out of five motorists enter into a "marriage" with a very specific filling station - for example, a Gasolin filling station. They do so because the advantages of such a regular filling station are obvious:
You fill up with top-class fuels and oils (no anonymous "gasoline"!).
You are served by knowledgeable and trained service station attendants.
You can find "your" brand wherever you want to fill up.
Yes, there are good reasons why more and more drivers are making a Gasolin filling station their regular filling station... when more and more drivers say: "My gasoline - Gasolin."
50 years later, neither the gasoline brand "Gasolin" nor the concept of "regular filling station" exists anymore. And the expert and trained petrol station attendants have also been history for some time now. And presumably 89 out of 100 men are no longer satisfied with their marriage, otherwise the divorce rate would not be around 50 percent (or more?).
Here is the entire advertising illustration, which can of course also be found in the archive .
