So, you book your cab today with your cell phone app and it is arranged by "Uber"? Then you probably don't remember the old days when a free car was arranged via a telephone switchboard?
It looked something like the picture, which is around 33 years old. Yes, telephones still had dials back then. Yes, there were already computers, but the screens were deeper than they were wide and could only display 80 letters in width and 24 lines in height, not graphics anyway.
But the nice lady would get you a cab and it usually arrived on time. And it was cheaper than today anyway ...
