Classic cars in Obwalden - a second look
06/07/2015
Josef Reinhard has been documenting events and special features in his home region of Obwalden for many decades. At the age of 84, he still has an eye for the special, as his photos of the recent classic car meeting show.
The best thanks to all the participants of the OiO (Oldtimer in Obwalden) came from the closed convent in Sarnen. As the nuns were unfortunately unable to attend in person, they at least thanked us with a huge poster.
While some were looking for hidden power in the Martini six of 1927, others photographed the first bus of the transport company Dillier AG from Sarnen, digitally of course, as is usual today.
The Saurer could only dream of this camera during its time. Back then, they were still made of wood and mounted on a tripod.
We had known for a long time that there were also some Obwalden people in England, but we really didn't know that they were given license plates from their home country.
The little one is only marginally interested in all the hype surrounding the many vintage cars in 1:1 scale, he would much rather play with his old 1:18 cars.
Thank goodness there is enough space between the vehicles for a short rest, and the running boards provide plenty of seating.
