In which country do you think this parking lot was found?
Well, of course we ourselves know in which country the parking lot pictured was located. The camera shutter was pressed in 1966, freezing a situation that almost 50 years later makes you wonder.
The VW Beetle is dominant, but there are alsoMercedes-Benz and Opel limousines to be seen. On closer inspection, however, we also recognize (in the second picture) vehicles from Renault, Peugeot, Fiat, DKW, MG, Triumph, Volvo and Alfa Romeo. This makes it clear that we are in Switzerland, as such a mixture would have been unthinkable in France, Italy or England, and the proportion of foreign vehicles would have been too high for Germany at the time.
What is also striking is the size of the parking spaces compared to the dimensions of the vehicles. While the painted areas have often remained the same in recent years, the vehicles have grown considerably in size ...
