Women's car? Autobianchi A 112 Abarth
02/12/2013
The so-called "women's car" is a hotly debated topic. Does it exist? And what constitutes a woman's car?
Well, the Abarth company seems to have had a clear opinion on this when they designed the sales brochure for the A 112. The lovely woman is depicted five times and she is by no means the typical female passenger.
In fact, the Autobianchi A 112 was a practical small car that was built from 1969 to 1986. As a house tuner, Abarth went one better in terms of performance and delivered 70 hp, which took the not quite 3.3-meter-long speedster to around 160 km/h.
This was car enough for some men, so the women were certainly not the only A-112 fans. After all, over 1.2 million (across all model series) were built.
The Autobianchi sales brochure can of course be found (in Italian) in the Zwischengas archive.
