Taunus and Anglia - where have they gone?
We are standing on the wagon of a car loading train in 1961, looking over a huge "parking lot" where only Ford models are waiting to be delivered. The scene takes place near Rouen in France On the left side and on the wagon we see many Ford Taunus 17 M, the rest of the waiting area seems to be filled by Ford Anglia, hundreds of them.
Where have these vehicles, which would be over 50 years old today, gone? In this one picture, we are guaranteed to see more Ford Anglia than have survived on the entire European mainland.
And something else is striking: not a single vehicle is sprayed black, light colors predominate. So it may well be that a significant proportion were also intended for countries further south.
