In ten colors or as desired

Special rules have always applied to small series manufacturers. The sports car manufacturer TVR in Blackpool also specified standard colors in its brochures, just like its competitors producing large series, and there were usually not too many.
For the 1969 Vixen model, for example, TVR offered the colors "Regal Red", "Flame Red", "Light Orange", "Sun Beige", "Sahara Yellow", "Metallic Sahara Yellow", "Sherwood Green", "Diamond Blue", "Kingfisher Blue" or "Ermine White".
But in principle, customers could have any color they wanted. The surcharge on the '69 TVR Vixen for the special color of the customer's choice was just £15, or around 1% of the base price including tax. And so today it is often almost impossible to find out what color an early TVR was actually wearing when it left the factory.
A brochure on the TVR Vixen S2with the colors for 1969 can be found in the Zwischengas archive, as can a report on the TVR Vixen .
