There are now more Minis on British roads than any other car. But what gives the Mini its superiority over the competition ? Performance certainly. At o to 50 m.p.h. in 137 seconds* the Mini 1000 is very hard to catch. Roadholding. Frontwheeldrive and independent suspension make the Mini extraordinarily attached to the road. Manoeuvrability. A length o f just over 10 feet (3-05 m.) and a turning circle o f only 28^ feet (8-69 m.) give supremacy in the dogfight o f congested traffic. Space.
