Italian Arturo Merzario drove a few demo laps on snow and ice in an Alfa Romeo 179B from the 1979 GP season at "The I.C.E." event at the weekend. This is almost unbelievable because the GP driver, who became known above all as the "Lauda savior", will be 83 years old on March 11, 2026.

"I don't see driving as a problem, but rather getting in and out of the narrow and deep cockpit," explained Merzario in St. Moritz. But the likeable little, lanky "cowboy man" hardly misses an opportunity to make his presence felt in top-class racing cars time and again.

Hats off dear Arturo and hopefully our paths will cross many more times!
