Fan merchandise, gullwing cars and happy faces
On April 12, Techno Classica opened in the exhibition halls in Essen with the "Happy View Day". By April 16, around 1,250 exhibitors had taken their cars out of their packaging (and others had packed them specially) and were showing them to the public, which had already turned up in large numbers on the first day. To mark the 75th anniversary of the Citroën 2CV, Metropole Classics has brought a full-size toy model to Essen.
But there is much more to celebrate: for example 75 years of Porsche or even 100 years of MG. It is always amazing how many cars are on sale. Once again, the countless Mercedes-Benz 300 SLs in all colors and variations are striking in Essen. What the Porsche 911s were in terms of numbers before the corona pandemic, this year are certainly the wonderful, but in some cases completely over-restored Gullwing and Roadster from Stuttgart.
If you want to see for yourself, you can do so until April 16. Perhaps you will have as much fun as the lady in the picture below. We will of course also be publishing a detailed review of the trade fair with plenty of photos at the beginning of next week.
