Thierry Boutsen - from GP winner to classic car dealer
Belgian Thierry Boutsen raced in Formula 1 from 1983 to 1993, winning three races for Williams - the Canadian and Australian Grand Prix in 1989 and the Hungarian Grand Prix in 1990. Some of the former racing drivers drift into the historic scene, usually many years after their current career. People such as Jean Alesi, Emanuele Pirro, Jochen Mass, Marco Werner, Marc Surer and Gerhard Berger are often at the start of historic racing events.
This includes Thierry Boutsen, who surprisingly put the spurs to a 1988 Spice SE 88 C at a recent track day in Le Castellet. But Boutsen doesn't just drive, he also deals in historic cars. The company is based - how could it be otherwise? - in Monte Carlo, where his name and his motorsport successes are of course good for business, but also guarantee quality.
The aforementioned Spice racer has been in the same ownership since 2004 and took the runner-up title in Group C2 in 1988 and finished fourth overall a year later with a victory by Pierre-François Rousselot in the Supercup Championship at the Nürburgring. The car has also achieved twelve podium finishes in the Historic Group C Championship since 2010. The car is now for sale in excellent original condition, with various spare parts and a silencer. The car is ready to race and absolutely predestined for the upcoming Le Mans Classic.
