Edi Wyss fascinated at the Emil Frey Brunch
03/28/2023
Although you already know most of it or have at least heard about it somewhere, it is always fascinating to hear from people from the motorsport scene what it was really like back then.
It was clearly better, much more familiar and, of course, much crazier from today's perspective. Today, it's almost impossible to imagine what was possible back then.
The borders were much more open back then, even without a Schengen Agreement, which certainly made life a lot easier. For example, when Swiss television visited Hebert Müller in Reinach in the canton of Aargau for a report, Stumpen-Herbi didn't miss the opportunity to take a quick spin through his home town in a Le Mans Ferrari 512S, including a donut, for the filming.
Edi Wyss, a mechanical veteran of the racing scene at the time, enthralled an interested audience at Emil Frey Classics last Sunday for an entertaining two hours with stories from times gone by. His autobiographywith the fitting title "The Swiss Wiz", which was published almost two years ago by McKlein Verlag, naturally contains many of these stories.
