A parking lot in Hameln
03/02/2023
Rummaging around in abandoned but not abandoned offices almost always brings interesting things to light. As a boy with an interest in history, you can discover all sorts of exciting things in this garbage that was considered useless years ago - it is of course particularly fascinating when the finds have something to do with old cars. Like these "panoramic photos" of a parking lot in Hamelin, which are composed of three individual images.
Since these analog photos come from the former archive of an architectural office, the correct and flush continuation of the houses in the background naturally had priority when gluing the pictures together. This is why the white Beetle with the "railroad tracks" and the Ford P6 with the Talbot mirrors can be seen twice in the lower photo, while the VW flatbed truck with double cab is cut off in the middle of the cab in the upper photo.
Unfortunately, neither the date nor the location is noted on the pictures. The town could still be identified quite easily from the most common license plate prefix "HM". When it comes to the year, it is logical to use the cars as a guide: Simca 1500 Break, BMW Touring and Fiat 850 Spider are the exotic cars between numerous VWs and Fords. A wonderful opportunity to play another round of "How old am I?" with our readers. Who will be the first to guess?
