Fribourg classic car and parts market 2018 - pretty sunny
Of course, the OTM Fribourg 2018 cannot compete with the major German classic car salons Techno Classica and Retro Classics, which all take place on the same weekend, in terms of size or chrome splendor. But Fribourg is offering something today at the opening (and until Sunday evening) that the two German events did not have, namely spring weather and temperatures above ten degrees. This naturally makes traveling to the event in a classic car much more enjoyable.
The special shows also have more manageable dimensions on the French-Swiss language border, but they do provide a bit of guesswork. For example, what does a Panhard Dyna have to do with a Saab 96 (picture above)? If you find out, you might discover the theme of this special show.

Yesterday was still busy setting up in Fribourg, we also set up our stand there and look forward to seeing visitors on Saturday and Sunday! Incidentally, the car is an extremely rare Bond Equipe 2 Litre GT Mk III from 1970, equipped with a Triumph inline six-cylinder engine. It is one of four cars officially imported at the time and perhaps the only survivor of the quartet in Switzerland.
We quickly walked through Hall 1 and of course spotted a few VW Beetles - after all, the crawling beast is celebrating 70 years in Switzerland, as the first VWs were imported into Switzerland in 1948 - still on axles.
But things can also be faster in Fribourg, for example with a Lotus F1 car in the racing car line-up.
Everyone was obviously not quite finished with their cars on the evening before the opening ...
