Not a cannon, but almost ...

You hardly know this car, after all it was only built twice. It is called the Cannon GT Coupé and was built in 1964 by Mike Cannon from Tasmania, who also gave it his own name.
Cannon actually sold kit cars that could be completed with Ford, Austin or Morris components.
But for the Cannon GT, he developed his own chassis, on which he placed a body made of aluminum and plastic parts. The suspensions came from a Lotus Elan 26R and the engine was a Ford 1.1-liter, as used in formula cars. Cannon wanted to use it to beat the almost unbeatable Divas of the time.
It is unclear how successful the car was, but at least it survived and will now go under the hammer with extensive documentation at the Bonhams Goodwood Members Meeting auction , with an estimated value of £ 25,000 to 30,000 (€ 28,000 - 34,000). A car with a lot of racing history should be worth that much, even if it is unlikely to be road-legal.
