Forgotten car magazines - automobil - Technik, Sport, Touristik
The German-language magazine "automobil - Technik, Sport, Touristik" was published between 1958 and 1963.
The magazine, which initially appeared monthly and later fortnightly, was published by Gildeverlag in Alfeld (Leine). The publisher was Hans-Gerhard Dobler.
The editors-in-chief were Heinz Kranz, who later reached top form at the magazine "hobby", and Olaf von Fersen, who dedicated his entire life to cars and technology. He was also known as a correspondent for Autocar and Automobil Revue.
One issue cost DM 1.50 in 1960, and you could also subscribe per quarter.
The magazine was later merged into " Automobil-Illustrierte " , and "Kleinwagen" was also integrated along the way. The Automobil Illustrierte, which was much more sober than "Automobil", in turn later formed the basis for "Rallye Racing".
With critical writing and detailed tests, the magazine built up a good reputation and also covered lesser-known cars such as the English Lotus Elite.
