Voilà, a car - Test Goggomobil
In 1955, hobby tester Günther Gebhardt received the new Goggomobil and was told to break it. He did not succeed, on the contrary, he was really enthusiastic about the little car. The refreshed test almost summarizes the findings and shows some pictures of the interior of the Goggomobil.
The "big" Goggomobil was one of the big surprises at the IAA 1957 in Frankfurt. The still young car manufacturer Glas was launching its second coup and the experts applauded. However, it turned out that the new model was presented somewhat prematurely and was also put into series production a little too early - now with rear-wheel drive instead of front-wheel drive. This not only damaged its reputation, but also its market opportunities, which is why the Glas Isar T600/T700 was only built for a good six years. This vehicle report describes the history of this now very rare model and shows it in many historical illustrations and in the sales literature.
With the Goggomobil T 600 (and T 700), the Glas company presented a modern small car design at the IAA in 1957. Series production began just one year later and hobby tester Gebhardt was able to test one of the first vehicles produced. He was enthusiastic, even though he could not foresee the teething troubles that were to cost Hans Glas GmbH a lot of money. This report reproduces the original wording of the "hobby" test and shows the Goggomobil T 600/700 in many factory photos, advertising material and a sales brochure from the time.
In 1959, Glas presented the Goggomobil Isar S35 Coupé on its stand at the IAA. The magazine 'hobby' was given the opportunity to test a pre-production vehicle and was very positive about the small sports car with its good handling. Unfortunately, the Isar S35 never made it into series production, so this test report has a special historical value. This article reproduces the original wording of the test, supplemented by the illustrations from the time.
Few small sports cars in its price range turned out as pretty and attractive as the Goggomobil Dart by Australian Bill Buckle. The mechanics of the German Goggomobil T300/T400 were concealed under the doorless polyester body. With 700 units produced, the fair-weather vehicle was one of the most successful sports cars Down Under. This report tells the story of the unusual sports car and shows it in many pictures.
Following the success of the Goggo scooter, the Glas company began to build a four-wheeled compact automobile with motorcycle genes, the Goggomobil. This became a great success, thanks to low production and maintenance costs combined with good driving performance and comfort attributes. This report shows one of these subcompact automobiles in detail and goes into the history of the Goggomobil over a good ten years, supplemented by many contemporary and current photos, a handful of brochures and technical information.
Hans Glas GmbH presented a sensation at the 1963 IAA with the Glas 1300 GT. Breathtakingly beautiful and powered by modern engine technology, the Glas coupé had what it took to give the competition a run for its money. However, the coupé, which was soon followed by a convertible and more powerful versions, did not manage to save the Glas brand, despite its outstanding facilities. This report goes into the history of the beautiful coupé and shows it in many current and historical illustrations, as well as in original brochures. A sound sample is also included.

A real sensation - glass 1500
The Glas brand, which was taken over by BMW in the mid-sixties, was once an influential player in the German car market. Models such as the Goggomobil and the Glas 1300 GT were coveted and popular. The Glas 1500 saloon was also a good success - an all-round successful mid-range car. It was so good, in fact, that the hobby tester wrote in the highest terms (and even in Bavarian dialect). This report reproduces the original wording from the hobby article and shows the four-door Glas 1500 in many pictures and in the historical sales literature.
Hobby magazine had the opportunity to drive the top-of-the-range Glas 2600 V8 in coupé form very early on. The product impressed the Hobby crew, resulting in a driving report that is fun to read and reveals many interesting facts about this rare vehicle.
