Summary
The Glas GT could have given the English sports cars a run for their money. However, it was almost too well and too luxuriously equipped for that and correspondingly expensive. In terms of handling and, above all, driving pleasure, however, it was in no way inferior to the British. The sedan was completely different: more powerful and more comfortable, it was more of a fast highway car than a cornering predator. This historical test report shows very well how different two cars with basically the same engine can be.

The slowly but surely increasing import quota of foreign sports cars and cars with a sporty character shows a reasonably attentive market observer that there is still at least one gap in our range of cars. The width of this gap is considerable, ranging from the Glas 1204 TS to the Porsche 90. Sports car drivers for whom the Glas does not appeal and the Porsche is too expensive have to turn to foreign manufacturers, who offer a wide range of driving machines for prices ranging from DM 8000 to DM 16,000. In Dingolfing, they once again had an eye for the market situation and the necessary courage to design a car that was new in many respects. The Glas 1300 GT was well received by the public, even better than had been expected, because the fact that buyers would literally snatch the car out of the factory's hands was probably beyond even the sales department's dreams.
