The fact that a simple photo excursion to Dingolfing turned into a real car premiere was due to chance. It just so happened that Schorsch Meier, the 'cast-iron man', was in Dingolfing during my visit. The unforgotten master driver is a wholesaler for BMW and glass in Munich. So it's understandable that he wanted to get to know the 'legendary' fastest Glas, the V8, which - there's no getting around it - he is undoubtedly supposed to sell to his customers as a genuine counterpart to the new BMW 2000 CS Coupé. We both remember with pleasure the last time we took the BMW 1500 on a hobby test drive together; but today, unfortunately, there was no chance of a robber test à la Meier, because the new Glas 2600 V8 coupé in front of us was destined for the Frankfurt exhibition and had to remain intact at all costs. So we analyze the new car together during a short test drive. Despite our reluctance to let the 140 horses pass, we quickly realize that Glas has created a fine car.
