There's music in the air

"Rosso Monza" is not exactly one of the most common colors in which you see a Ferrari F355 Spider driving around. But that alone would not be a reason to write about the car here.
However, the vehicle pictured belonged to Herbie Hancock, one of the most famous jazz musicians and composers (including "Cantaloupe Island", "Watermelon Man", "Rockit", "Chameleon", etc.) from 1997 to 2014.
He obviously didn't drive his Ferrari too much, because even today, seven years after selling it, the speedometer shows less than 25,000 miles. What is certain is that he was able to elicit music from the manual sports car; after all, the F355 is one of the best-sounding cars of all time.
Now chassis ZFFXR48A9V0106741 has just been auctioned (on May 12, 2021) via Bring-a-Trailer, with the highest bid coming in at USD 87,000, a good price for a Ferrari F355 ....
However, the buyer ("Drew") will have to pay a little more, as a five percent commission (in this case USD 4350) and taxes, if applicable, have to be added to the asking price.
But a real jazz lover and Ferrari enthusiast will hardly regret this sum, especially after "Drew" had apparently recently missed Miles Davis' Ferrari 348 ...
