Alfa Romeo Giulia TI Super - the father of the evolutionary models?
Evolution models were "en vogue" in the eighties and nineties. The BMW M3, the Lancia Delta Integrale, the Subaru Impreza WRX STI or the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, which even bore this trend in its name, were sought-after vehicles among sporty types, even though they were far more expensive than standard models. But they were rare and they were faster. And they were also hotter to look at.
The Giulia TI Super, which offered less for more, was already available from Alfa Romeo in 1963 based on exactly the same recipe. Less weight, less equipment for much more money. Well, there was also a little more engine power. The utility value was only moderately limited, just like its modern descendants.
And if the price development of the Giulia TI Super is an indicator of what will happen with the modern evolutionary models, then perhaps now would be the time to secure one of them, if it is not already too late, as with the M3 E30, for example, to strike a real bargain ...
