Survey results - what do readers think about Zwischengas?
In October, we conducted an online survey and asked our readers/members for feedback on Zwischengas. We were delighted with the responses and the enthusiasm with which we received them, the response rate was far beyond what online surveys "usually" achieve. What's more, many respondents provided detailed comments and suggestions. Thank you very much, we are impressed and were really pleased with the many individual comments and ideas.
As an initial feedback, we would like to share a brief overview of the insights gained here.
The design and form of Zwischengas was judged by almost 90% to be either appropriate/pleasing or even optimal, users are also happy with the navigation, although certain improvements are possible, the answers imply. 65% are very satisfied with the response times, a further 32% find them okay, but would not be unhappy if they were even faster.
What can be said after analyzing the responses is that Zwischengas users like pictures, the majority also browse through longer galleries! Longer texts are also no problem and original documents such as newspaper/catalog pages and press communiques or technical data are very popular with readers.
The links to recommended articles are also appreciated, with more than two thirds using them.
People are generally quite satisfied with the search function, although some noted a considerable amount of effort. However, only just over a fifth use the available filtering options or the option to work with logical operators (AND, OR, etc.).
The mix of topics largely meets the expectations of Zwischengas users; on average, a good two thirds find the mix right. However, 36% would like to see more vehicle reports on post-war vehicles from 1961 to 1980, and around 27% would like to see fewer reports on super and extreme sports cars.
When asked individually, there are many users who would like to see more auction reports and results, and there are also numerous readers who would like to see more technical reports or restoration articles. In addition, Zwischengas readers have expressed an interest in very specific vehicles, especially niche brands and cars, and have asked for articles about them. Very individual interests, such as repair instructions and solutions to vehicle type-specific problems, were also expressed.
The new advertisements offered on Zwischengas have met with a very positive response. The presentation and level of detail are convincing. The specialist profiles and the club/IG profiles have also been well received, and some readers would like to see more of them.
We also seem to be on the right track with the newsletter: over 81% think the weekly publication frequency is just right, although 18% could also imagine a monthly publication. There is also great agreement with the current practice in terms of the mix of topics, with the article summaries, calendar and archive information and the editorial being particularly appreciated.
We were very pleased to see that almost 100% of Premium users are satisfied or very satisfied with what is on offer. There was also little criticism of the prices charged. The approximately 5% who felt that the prices were too high were offset by almost 6% who rated the price as almost too cheap, but definitely favorable, while the others noted that the price was set correctly for what was on offer.
Of the registered members without Premium status, 64% stated that the price offered was sufficient and that Premium membership was therefore not (yet) an option. However, almost a third are considering "upgrading". For a single-digit percentage, the credit card is an obstacle, but this has already been remedied. It is now also possible to pay via eBanking.
In terms of reading behavior, over 70% of Zwischengas users also read print magazines in addition to online media, while only 10% obtain their information exclusively via the Internet. Over 50% of Zwischengas readers subscribe to one of the well-known classic car magazines. A good 30% would find an iPad application from Zwischengas an idea worth considering, and almost half would also welcome printed information from Zwischengas.
Over 70% would like to save their favorite brands and other preferences and can also imagine recording their own vehicles in profile form. A personal archive (bookmarking) and networking with other users are also seen as attractive additions to Zwischengas, with over 60% approving.
Of course, we are always open to feedback and suggestions. We place great emphasis on continuously improving Zwischengas (e.g. introducing a payment process without a credit card) and adapting the mix of topics to readers' needs (e.g. technical topics, more limousines or concept cars, auction reporting).
