Offspring ... and they do exist, you just have to see them
11/04/2025
For months, we have been hearing everywhere that we are short of young people, i.e. our successors. The search for young talent is almost desperate.
But they do exist, you just have to see them. Take the two young men and like-minded friends Paul Stalmann and Max Paulus from Munich, for example.
A few days ago, they organized their second top-class event at the Drivers & Business Club in Munich. Superbly organized and with very special racing and sports cars on site, they inspired not only the die-hard petrol heads, but also many young people who are still to be won over by our beloved hobby.
With the South African BMW driver (IMSA and WEC) Sheldon van der Linde, celebrities were also represented on the driving side.
Not only the Mustang with which Fabio Scherer recently broke the lap record on the Nordschleife, but also an Audi Sport quattro and Jean-Claude Andruet's Lancia Beta Montecarlo were on site.
You could not only see the cars, but also hear some of them. Now you can perhaps imagine how loud it gets when the NASCAR V8 roars away in closed walls.
A cardboard box was used to prevent permanent damage to the wall, although the black stain could easily pass for modern art.
The Bugatti Bolide, blessed with twice the number of cylinders of the US racing car (16 cylinders), also made the DJ look as old as the hills.
Despite the chilly evening, all the guests outside still had to soak up the wild hissing and rattling of the turbo 5-cylinder of the short Quattro.
The famous currywurst, wrapped in the finest smell of gasoline, was the crowning glory.
A few words about the fantastic location near the Olympic Center in Munich, which was founded in 2016 as the "Drivers & Business Club Munich" by the three entrepreneurs and passionate petrol heads Dr. Christoph Walther, Andreas Dünkel and Xander Heijnen. They have a clear vision: as a private members club based on the Anglo-Saxon model, the Drivers & Business Club is intended to give ambitious like-minded people a home - a "Home to People with Drive".
They achieved this with the opening of the clubhouse in October 2019. The listed Bauhaus-style building covers an area of around 4,000 m2 and currently accommodates around 900 members. With 18 offices and meeting rooms and an excellent restaurant, the club is an ideal venue for business and social gatherings. Further information can be found on the club's website.
The two young organizers Paul and Max spare no effort and are already aiming for their next goals.
Zwischengas wishes them continued success and is sure to be able to report on them again soon.
