Well, where's the handbrake?

You don't actually need the handbrake or parking brake all that often. But it is sometimes handy for photo shoots if you don't want to switch off the engine every time you change position.
So the other day I was sitting in an early De Tomaso Pantera L and wondered where that darn handbrake was. Having driven a lot of cars, I know how to deal with handbrake levers to the left of the driver's seat, under the dashboard or as a fourth pedal. But none of this was to be found in the Pantera. It was simply invisible from the driver's seat.
Eventually I did find it, between the center console and the passenger seat, ideally positioned for a driving instructor sitting on the right. But still highly unusual - and invisible when detached - from the driver's perspective.
It then worked perfectly, something you don't expect from all handbrakes.
