Nico Rosberg at the start of the Passione Caracciola
06/18/2015
A big turnout yesterday for F1 vice world champion Nico Rosberg at the gates of watch manufacturer IWC in Schaffhausen as he drove through the Passione Caracciola classic car regularity rally ( June 17 to 21, 2015).
Nico arrived a little late in the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, followed by large television cameras.
Despite the time pressure, however, the young racing driver appeared absolutely relaxed ...
... and took the time to sign many autographs and patiently stand still for many a selfie. Just like a professional.
The second works 300 SL driver was almost forgotten. After all, Bernd Mayländer is no stranger to Formula 1 races, driving more lead laps than Nico Rosberg, even if only as a safety car driver.
He parked the 300 SL Gullwing with ease and was happy to provide information about his work.
Meanwhile, Nico Rosberg gave a handful of interviews, said into the microphone that he loves old cars and enjoys driving them, exchanged a few words with IWC CEO Georges Kern ...
... and then hurriedly left the scene in a black limousine, because he had to get to Zeltweg, where he will be competing in the Austrian GP.
And the real "stars" of the afternoon, the fast Mercedes star carriers, were parked and almost completely lost in all the trouble ...
From today until Sunday, the 58 rally participants will cross five mountain passes from Schaffhausen to Lugano, covering almost 600 km and driving on the roads of the legendary Rudi Caracciola. It is no coincidence that many of them are traveling in classic Mercedes vehicles ...
