Maserati Ghibli becomes the victim of a wrong-way driver
06/18/2013
On May 16, 2013, a female driver driving in the direction of Lucerne crossed into the oncoming lane on the A8 freeway at the Wolfort barrier area for reasons that remain unexplained. There she realized her mistake and tried to turn left into the emergency lane. A driver driving in the correct lane tried to avoid the wrong-way driver. During this maneuver, his Maserati Ghibli skidded and collided several times with the central crash barrier.
The retired wrong-way driver turned around on the spot and drove away from the scene of the accident. A little later, however, she contacted the police independently.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was uninjured. However, his classic car was totaled and the crash barriers and road surface were badly damaged.
No matter how careful you are as a classic car driver, other people's mistakes can put you in trouble.
