A Lamborghini Miura as a speeding mule with a top speed of 300 km/h
Luigi Colani was and is always good for sensational designs. When the company Bostik GmbH asked him to demonstrate the use of adhesives and sealants for the K71 plastics trade fair in Düsseldorf in 1971, the result was a mid-engine sports carfor future "traffic-free arteries".
The mid-engine racer was claimed to be capable of 300 km/h and the shape did indeed look very streamlined. According to reports in ADAC Motorwelt at the time, the chassis of the Lamborghini Miura was hidden under the plastic bodywork. The Automobil Revue described this somewhat more cautiously at the time: "A transverse twelve-cylinder mid-engine is indicated as the power unit."
In any case, the crew sat under a glass door at the very front of the car, their feet just behind the front barrier in Formula 1 style. It is questionable whether anyone would have dared to drive so fast in this projectile, but the study caused a sensation with great success.
And whether a Miura actually had to give its life for the concept car is beyond our knowledge ...
