On April 20, 2022, the ten millionth Dacia rolled off the production line at the Mioveni plant. Almost 54 years after the first Dacia, a Duster in "Urban Grey" brought the Romanian brand's total production to eight figures.
Dacia had started building passenger cars in August 1968. The Dacia 1100 was a licensed version of the Renault 8 and 37,546 units had been produced by the end of 1970.
In August 1969, the Dacia 1300 followed as the Romanian version of the Renault 12, which reached the one million mark in 1985 and of which a total of 1,959,730 units had been produced by 2004.
Dacia has been part of Renault since 1998. In June 2004, the first completely self-developed model appeared with the Logan, which was also available in Western Europe a year later and has sold 1.9 million units in three generations to date. Today, Dacia is a full-range manufacturer with compact cars, SUVs, high-roof station wagons and electric cars. Seven of the ten million Dacias built in total were built between 2004 and 2022.
