Summary
It was an auction of superlatives that Mecum organized from 6 to 18 January 2026 in Kissimmee/Florida. 4,500 vehicles went under the hammer, including one of the 36 Ferrari 250 GTOs built. However, while bidders held back on the only white GTO, the records for young Ferrari models such as the Enzo, F50 and F40 tumbled, while some of the younger Porsche models fared less well ... This auction review focuses on the more expensive offers and shows many of them in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
What Mecum organizes every year in January in Florida is the auction of superlatives. From January 6 to 18, the Mecum people put around 4500 vehicles under the hammer in front of thousands of bidders and spectators over 13 consecutive days. The just over 200 most expensive cars alone achieved a combined sales turnover of almost USD 300 million. With 81 Ferrari, 65 Chevrolet, 22 Ford, 21 Shelby and 15 Porsche, the brands that seem to be particularly popular in the USA were represented in the highest-bid 284 vehicles. While 83% of the 81 Ferraris were sold, the rate for Porsches was only 53%, and for the expensive Lamborghini and McLaren only 30% and 29% respectively.
