A Luigi Colani prototype that caused a stir at the K71 plastics fair in 1971 has turned up at a house auction in Canada (see our blog from 2013)
The speeding slipper was a mid-engined sports car with an attached passenger compartment in typical Colani style. At the time, the vehicle was said to be capable of 300 km/h and more - one wonders whether anyone would have wanted to expose their legs like that at that speed.
The Lamborghini Miura V12 engine was intended as the drive technology at the time, but it is more than uncertain whether the prototype ever actually drove a meter and whether an engine was installed in the vehicle.
In any case, the study caused quite a stir at the time. It is not clear how it ended up in Canada. Obviously it was not treated with much care, because today the prototype looks rather weathered.
The company that bought the unique piece at auction is now looking for more information.
