Summary
The coachbuilding company Touring Superleggera was founded in Milan in 1926. For 40 years, some of the most beautiful cars ever built left the noble vehicle forge, until it was all over in 1966. At least temporarily. This report looks back on the work of Carrozzeria Touring and shows some of the best creations made between 1926 and 1966 in over 120 pictures.

The flowing lines of the aluminum body of a touring coupé or convertible always looked suspiciously like a wind tunnel. If you look at the BMW Mille Miglia coupé, built in 1940, the Alfa Romeo coupé built at the same time or the first Ferrari from that period (which was actually called Auto Avio Costruzione 815 - the Commendatore only used its name as a car brand after the war) - then it is hard to believe that such body contours could have been created "by hand". However, the Carrozzeria Touring Milano did not have a wind tunnel. But it did have specialists who understood their craft. The creations of the masters Betti, Formenti and Seregni bore an unmistakable signature.
